About Get Organized MonthSM

For years, the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) sponsored Get Organized (GO) Week in October, a program that encouraged local NAPO chapters to coordinate community service events. GO Week promoted the benefits of organization and encouraged media attention. 

As the industry grew and the popularity of organizing increased, the need for public awareness grew too! NAPO responded with Get Organized MonthSM, celebrated annually in January since 2005. The goal of Get Organized MonthSM is to raise awareness of the benefits of getting organized and of hiring a NAPO Professional Organizer, in the eyes of both the general public and the media. 

Why January?

Based on the feedback of our industry members, January is the best month to promote the benefits of organizing.  Organizing is often identified as a top New Year’s resolution, and media attention is high during the month.
